What is an image? What function does it serve? What does it depict? Who does it represent? What does it symbolize? What is its purpose? Or perhaps it serves no purpose at all? An image can be: • a trace of existence • a memory – temporary or eternal • a capture of more than just a moment • an act of ego • a natural admiration for matter • a representation of ideas, the powerof another or one’s own • a way of crossing boundaries • stripping away... • pure depth • my desire •and increasingly, doubt • that past presence... everything. This exhibition consists of a selection of chosen images. I refer to them as the state of my mind, although not all were created with such an intention or awareness. However, they all contain at least one component of my form, which consists of ultra-basic elements: vertical, horizontal, white, black, and a range of greys. This is my scope, my visual and spiritual atom, my alphabet.
